Son of two professors, Ali Zafar was brought up in Lahore. He graduated from National College of Arts in 2002. Before he had started making music, Ali had already made a name for himself in the entertainment industry. He has worked in a range of commercials and TV serials such as Lunda-Bazar and College Jeans. He also starred in Abrar-ul-Haq’s music video ‘Preeto’.

His melodious voice has been compared to that of Kishore Kumar’s. In 2003, he released his debut album worldwide. It was an instant hit which sold approximately 600,000 copies and made him won several awards.
With a huge fan base from Pakistan and all over the world, Ali has won the “Best Album” award at the Lux Style Awards in 2004 for his massive hit album Huqa Pani. It was such a big hit that directors from across the border plagiarized one of the tracks “Channo”.

Ali has a multitalented personality. Along being a versatile entertainer with a magnetic personality, he is also the Brand Ambassador for Telenor Talkshawk
